History
| 1970 : |
The Company was originally established as Lucky Packaging
Co., Ltd. in July 1974, an affiliate of the LG Group, to
engage in the manufactured and sale of electronic machinery,
elevators and various other industrial automation systems. |

| 1980 : |
The Company changed its name to Goldstar Industrial Systems
Co., Ltd. in March 1987.
The Company acquired the switchboard manufacturing business
of two LG Group affiliates, Goldstar Instrument & Electric
Co., Ltd. and Goldstar Electric Machinery Co., Ltd. in April
1988 and July 1988, respectively. In December 1989
established an industrial systems technology centre in Osan. |

In 1990, the Osan and Changwon plants received "Poom", the
highest grade in quality control, from the Korean Industrial
Advancement Administration.
In 1992, the Company established a joint venture in Thailand.
LG Industrial Systems (Thailand)Co., Ltd., for the sale of
elevators and escalators.
In 1993, the Company merged with Goldstar Special Machinery
Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of Vacuum Valves.
In February 1994, the Company established a joint venture in
China, Beijing LG Industrial Systems Co., Ltd. for the sale
of elevators and escalators. The company's shares have been
listed on the Korea Stock Exchange the "KSE" since July 1994.
The Company adopted its present name February 1995. In
September 1995 it merged with Goldstar Instrument & Electric
Co., Ltd. and Goldstar Electric Machinery Co., Ltd.
In March 1996, the Company undertook joint ventures in
Indonesia, establishing PT. Humpuss LG System. In June 1996
it established a wholly owned U.S subsidiary, LG Industrial
Systems U.S.A., Inc., for the sale of switchgears and
electronic ballasts. In July 1996 it established a design
research centre in Seoul. In July 1997, the Company
established LG-VINA Industrial Systems Co., Ltd., a joint
Venture in Vietnam. |
