The Kia Heavy Industries Corp.(KHI) established in 1976. as a member of Kia Business Group has been doing its utmost in performing the role as the leader in Korea's integrated precision machinery. Backed by accumulated technologies and knowhow, KHI has been producing high precision, hi-tech products based on the quality as our main principle, ranging from core automotive parts, various CNC machine tools, robots, presses and variety of industrial machinery and future-oriented aircraft parts.

Business of Automobile Parts
KHI produces transmissions, transfer-cases, frant and rear axles, power steerings and frames under an exclusive plant system.
Annually, the Namsan Plant produces 250,000 sets transmissions, the Jungdong Plant produces 600,000 C.V. Joints and 100,000 sets power steerings and vane oil pumps, the Panwol Plant 400,000 front and rear axles, and the Kwangju Plant over 100,000 frames. In fact, KHI is recording the highest outputs of such automotive parts as transmission, power steering and axle in Korea.
Customers take satisfaction at the high-tech products manufactured via ultramodern, automated facilities and various tests.



Business of Machine Tools
KHI's machine tools includes series of vertical machining center which are so convenient allowing maximum productivity in a minimum machining time, the horizontal machining series manufactured for full-fledged factory automation, the CNC lathe series boasting of the world's highest speed and productivity, the cylindrical grinding machine series with improved characteristics of innovative designing finish and fluid bearings, the rotary table type boring machine with high rigidity and precision for handy operation, and the various exclusive machines manufactured to suit the characteristics of objects to be machined.
All such machine tools offer maximum customer satisfaction.



Business of Machine Presses
Owing to quality know-how and continued research and development, KHI manufactures order-made presses of various kinds ranging from 400 to 5,000 tons having varied specifications: mechanical press, transfer press and hydraulic press series.
The supply by KHI of a 2,300 ton double action press line to Kia Motors' Asan Plant in 1994 was a big achievement in Korea's press manufacturing section and proof to KHI's advanced press manufacturing techniques.
KHI will keep display its technical capability in press manufacturing with firm belief that it will become one of the world's three largest press manufactures in the 2000s.
